Sarnia,
I'm looking into getting a new pair of rotors and pads for my car. My rotors are warped, and I want to get a good pair, but not too expensive. I don't go to the track or anything like that where I would need someting really good. I notice there are alot of Brembo rotors out there with different "Cross drilled, slotted rotors" what should I get? both? or just either one? I heard slotted rotors can be bad for brake pads?

I've been using slotted brembos and hawk pads for about 15,000 miles. So far so good!

There's quite a bit of controversy about whether or not slots and/or holes are really needed with modern pads. Many people also say that cross-drilled rotors are prone to cracking... slotted rotors less so.

If you DO get slotted and/or holed rotors, be careful to read the instructions carefully as to which way the rotors are 'sposed to spin.

so is it just best to get OEM replacement rotors then? because I don't do any real racing... only on the street once in a while..

is slotted better than cross drilled? what about getting both done? do slotted or cross drilled make your pads wear more, or last longer? I don't know what combo I should go with?

if ya want performance at good value, i suggest you just buy a very inexpensive pair of brembo blanks and a very good set of brake pads like axis or aem.

slotted/drilled whatever, its mainly for looks i know because i got some brembo slotted/drilled. havn't warp yet.
