I'm not terribly familiar with the EGR system and I'm trying to install an evo3 intake manifold. This manifold has no provision for the EGR valve and the general way to take care of this is to just use a blockoff plate. Unfortunately I don't have the bolts handy to run through the EGR valve so I can't put the blockoff plate on.
My question is, is there any reason why I can't just loop the vacuum lines that would go to the EGR? I have an evo8 ecu in my car so I should probably be able to deal with any EGR CEL. How does that vacuum work and how does the car know when the EGR is activated?
