Jeez, when I solve one problem another one arises. Well, after installing a new axle I go to close up the driver side window (which is all the way down)....but nothing, it doesnt budge. I pulled off the door panel to take a look and a listen. When I press the button to lower the window, the window motor makes a clicking sound. My working passenger side window makes the exact same sound when I lower it (when its all the way down). However, when I press the up buttom, nothing. No sounds. Silence. I checked the fuse and its fine. I'm thinking the relay in the window button is broken. Is this plausible? Cheers

There's only 1 relay that powers both windows so if 1 works it's unlikely the relay. There's a circuit breaker in the motor which may be faulty. Or it may be the motor itself, or the up/down switch, or bad wiring, or God forbid the ETACS-ECU (expensive). That's about it. The most likely is a wire fell off (or broken) or the switch is bad. You can test the motor by just applying 12V across it (unplug it first) first positive one way, then the other.

Motor works. YEsterday I ran 12V to it and got the window up, so Im figuring its the window up/down switch itself. Window goes down when you press the switch, but doesnt go up when pressed

Definitely the switch. Start browsing ebay and junkyards.:thumb:

I have a similar problem with a slight twist. My passenger window will not work. I used both buttons but no luck. I then purchased a used motor with the same results. I checked the voltage at the plug and nothing is there when the switch is toggled. Very strange. Any suggestions. Also In my case, where do I run the 12V from?

This is not meant to be insulting, but did you check the lock button on your drivers side window control panel?

If there is no power to the switch, keep tracing it backwards until you find the problem. There might be a short or a break in your wiring.

Well, here's a first! The power relay in the drivers side control panel was bad. But the drivers side window still worked fine. So much for the relay killing control to both windows. Unfortunately, the bill came to $254 dollars to find this out, not to mention the used passenger power window assembly I bought. Anyone need a passenger power window assembly:D Thanks for the help guys!
