Ok, so i went to replace my exhaust manifold on my 1990 Talon a few days ago because it had 4 cracks. Got though taking off all the nuts just fine, till i got to the lowest one closest to the timing belt. I barely even touched it, and part of the stud fell off. Got the manifold off and went to pull the stud by double nutting it, and it broke off inside the head. Decided to go ahead and pull the head and have a valve job done, since none of it had been opened since the car was built in 1990. Everything was going pretty good till I looked into the exhaust side of my turbo though and found this.

The cracks don't go all the way though, but I'm really not sure what the best direction is to take here. I'm also not sure what direction to go with the head as far as cams and such, all though it looked pretty good. (Car has 86,000 on it, and has been tracked, also has an electronic boost controller, 2.5 inch down pipe and high-flow cat, from when it was being tracked although the cat back was returned to stock by the last owner for emissions.)

My goal is to eventually get into the lower 300's as far as power goes, and so far I plan on a new turbo back exhaust, FMIC, and someday DSM link. Thoughts/suggestions?

Yea, I have the P.S. pump taken off. Parents offered to have a valve job done, so I decided to go ahead and do it now while they're paying for it, and just have the stud taken out at the same time so I'm sure there's no leaks, as it was leaking between the manifold and the head on that end too. And it's OK to leave the turbo like it is? Or should I go ahead and replace it in some form?

Alrighty, got the head off for a rebuild this week, and I had gotten a 2g manifold about 2 weeks ago. Now to clean up what I can and twiddle my thumbs till I get the head back, will probably lightly port the exhaust side of the turbo while I'm waiting too.
