Before I get bashed, let me start off by saying I searched and there was 5 threads returned. They did not cover the information that I was looking for so here I am to post the thread.

My sunroof is loose and is rattleing around, especially now since I have my prothanes in. I've tightened up the two front track screws, but I cant get to the back two. I've also tightened the actual sunroof screws and that still hasn't helped. I'm thinking its the back two screws in the track. How do I get to them?

the track itself sux, i have it on mine too , it rattles no matter what i did , the plastic parts worn out . I took the sunroof out , tried to fix it , tighten everything , still the same . I would appreciate help also , whoever solves this problem!!! Thanks

I would take the sunroof glass out. Then inspect both rails for play. My driver's side rail had significant play in it after I took the glass out. The only way to fix this is to replace it. Run through some junkyards and try to find a 2g DSM, Avenger, or Sebring with the moonroof option and gank the rails out of that. They shouldn't be very expensive, but they will fix the annoying rattle problem. Trust me, its worth it. It's nice to not have to punch the sunroof all the time to stop the rattle.

and also, should i be able to push up on the glass part with it closed and it raise up a bit?

So I fixed the sunroof completly and everything works. The only issue I have is the last genius stripped out all the screws on the passenger side rail. Any ideas to fix this?

What a great store I have locally. Its called Metro Bolt in redford, MI. I went in with one of the hex bolts that didn't work. They sold me a cutting bolt the next size up and 3 replacement screws. Worked great! I also picked up a ton of stainless steel bolts for the front end. Total cost for the day! $7 Good fun!!

Not to bring an old thread from the dead, but... I am having this issue, the roof actually lifts on the highway a bit on its own when it should be closed. Did your rattle fix also fix this issue?

Yeah sucks when someone asks a question only to respond later with "I fixed it" and disappear :). I had the same issues when I had a sunroof and never figured out a long term fix. I've since removed mine but man it would be nice to know what the heck the solution was.

the sunroof has two plastic tabs that a metal rod locks onto. this is on the sides of the sunroof near the back. they break off very easily, and when they do, at 65-70+ the back of the sunroof will lift up because of... well because of lift (car aerodynamics, low pressure area there) Check and see of you have them, if not, you need to replace those rails.

^^ that's where the tabs should be

Gracias, will check it out. Maybe I can rig a winter fix to keep it down for a few months.
