I have searched around and know how to remove the steering wheel. I plan on replacing it with a stocker in better shape.

My only question is during reinstallation. I am afraid that I might not get the steering wheel on correctly and effect steering.

Is it somehow splined making it impossible to get back on wrong?

Thanks!

The stock wheel is round so even if you don't install it perfectly the car will still be ok to drive. If there is a problem note where new wheel is when the car goes straight and then remove and re-install it in the correct position. If you can find a straight back road (or long enough parking lot) you can drive the car straight, then stop without moving the wheel, adjust it, and re-test.

Thanks, but how do I avoid making a mistake in the first place? Seems like it is possible to make a mistake.

The spline is consistent and does not have a key hole anywhere.

In the past I have taken a permanent market and marked top dead center of the steering column rod while you still have the oem wheel for reference.

Then when you place the new wheel you can align the center of the wheel with the mark you made.
