Anyone have directions or a writeup on replacing the gasket for the oil filter housing on a 92 talon,I want to make sure I'm not breaking anything LOL

I did mine. Wasn't too hard. I loosened the belts, removed the carnk pulley, and moved the timing lower cover back just enough so i can get to the bolts that are behind it.

yes its very simple. Like stated above, there are 4 bolts holding the housing on, 1 which is hidden behind the lower timing belt cover. remove the belts, pulleys and enough of the timign belt cover to where u can get to the bolt. Remove the 4 bolts and pull the housing off. Make sure all the old gasket is off the housing and block before u install the new one. U can put alittle dab of RTV on the block to hold the gasket on, or put the gasket on the housing with the bolts through it to hold it on. Either way just make sure u get it on correctly without ripping it and make sure the bolts go back in the correct location. Torque the housing down to spec to assure proper seal and ## done

Well whats the torque spec on the filter housing? the exhaust mani, and the intake manifold? Thanks...
motor came out smoothly for my first by myself, i undid the top right ball joint, and the axles slid out like butter on a warm flapjack. Anyway..here are some pics. I will strip the parts from the motor. There is also a hole in the transmission from the previous starter going out and its about the size of a dime, but i hope it wont give me problems if i cover it with sheetmetal and jbweld the #### out of it.

IMHO tranny with motor pull is ####ing easy! Also can check for damage to the clutch. Thanks guys I love you all!

Does anyone know where to get that gasket that goest between the oil filter bracket and the block? I called mitsubishi and they said they had 3 different part numbers. LOL i have a 4G63 awd turbo talon 92

Only two part numbers exist for 1G turbo cars. You will need to know whether your engine is a 6-bolt or a 7-bolt to get the correct gasket. Look here to figure that out if you haven't already: How to quickly tell a 6bolt and 7bolt engine apart

Then, if you have a 6-bolt, the part number you are looking for is MD149370. Otherwise (for a 7-bolt) the part number is MD185528.

can someone help me find the right oil filter housing for my car... I believe I know which one it is that I need but would hate to order it and not be right. 1992 Mitsubishi eclipse gsx 6bolt 4g63t need the external oil cooler ports... thank you guys

The externally (air) cooled oil filter housing is part number MD132912 for a 6-bolt.

The water cooled oil filter housing is part number MD157670 for a 6-bolt.
