Ok ,saw the fuel filter under the battery tray while I was wiring up my stereo.

But anyways, I am going to replace it because I don't know if it has ever been replaced. Should I just use a oem spec one from autozone?

its not wether you should use x brand vs x brand (they are all about the same) its wether or not you can get it off. The things can be the biggest PITA!!!! Mine fortantly came off without much dinking around. My neighbors... wish I could say the same! We screwed with it for alteast 2 hours. I made note of what a pain it was and the next time I replaced it, I made a small lenght of SS hose (earls) and got a aeromotive filter and placed that on the firewall up higher, and ran a 6AN ss line to the fuelrail inlet when doing my Aeromotive AFPR. Makes changing it a 2 minute job now.

Just be patiant when wrenching on it. I have seen a few guys destory the hard line going back to the tank and had to replace it. Doing a search can yeild more nightmares others have had doing this easy maintance task.
