(Context: Broken remote, as in: broken exterior, not interior)
If you have owned your 2G DSM for a number of years and use the remote on your keychain, you probably have noticed the weak design of the case where the keyring loops through. That little piece of plastic will sooner or later snap off. Melting and then later superglueing a 20 gauge strand of steel across the void will only buy you time.
I thought my only option was to but another remote and then program it in place of the originals, but looking online they want $50 - $150! But prowsing through these websites specifically looking at products, I found one that will sell you JUST THE REMOTE FRONT/BACK CASE for $15. So for two, $30 + $5 s/h = $35 for a cheaper resolution then I though I could find...
WEBSITE: Keyless Remotes Online
Remote Casings: Keyless Remotes Online
They offer just the casings...you just have to specify the FCC ID# (GQ43VT6T) & YR/MK/MDL of vehicle in the "special shipping instructions" note area when ordering.
