The following is my mod list, my question is with respect to reliabliliy. I know if u change internals it will hurt the chances of it being a Daily Driver. Well i need it to be a D.D. and i wanted to know with the following mods if that is possible:

Remove cat use straight pipe, Cold-Air Intake w/ K&N Air Filter at the bottom, 4-1Performance Header, Cat-Back Exhaust, get a 2gt 450cc Fuel Injectors, MSD Ignition Wires, NGK Spark Plugs, Port & Polish Intake Manifold, Port & Polish Throttle Body, Port & Polish Cylinder Heads, AF/X Underdrive Pulley, AEM Adjustable Cam Gears, ZEX/N.E. 75 Wet Shot w/ fogger kit, Apex'i Super AFC-II, Titanium Valve Springs, Performance Motor Mounts, Cams (dont know which yet, what do u guys recomend??)

T.I.A.
Mike

It all depends on your cams. Evrything else is just unrealistic and kinda not the smartest choice. If you get the right cams it is very streetable. Consider a turbo kit for about the same amount of money and faster times then any of that will get you.

Umm yea, i think it might be cheaper the way i mentioned LOL, thanks for ure input tho, what do u mean the rest isnt very smart? anyone else have some helpful info?

I would say every thing but the nitrous would keep it reliable(as reliable as dsm's get:rolleyes: ) im not sure about how nitrous effects reliablity, but from what ive heard hastn been good

i agree, if u want to keep it as a DD car than forget the nitrous, specially a 75 shot. i wouldnt go much over 50 to keep it reliable. u wont be pushing enough power to really need larger injectors. the headers and removing the cat is very reasonable, wont hurt the car, just the economy (eh who cares anymore). the cams are a good upgrade, along w/ springs and retainers for more rpm gain but dont let it get to your head if u want it reliable.... dont dogg the shit out of it. the underdrive pulleys arent really needed, just to try to get the last bit of hp u can.

I dunno ive heard the underdrive pulleys give a pretty good gain, up to 8hp. and they say that they make your accessories like alternator and stuff last longer since it is spinning slower. now the effect on the battery im not sure about. im in favor for the pulley, i was thinking of getting one myself.

yeah, i just read alot more about em a few mins ago. they are a nice upgrade it seems. make you get to higher rpms quicker because they usually weight alot less than stock pulleys, but i dont know about the altenator or battery, im a big car audio fan so i dont know how good it would do me.

Aside of the spray, which usually isn't too reliable unless the internals are built (or a very small shot is used) , I do see a problem with larger injectors and I don't agree that the cat should come out. Even if you live in a no-emissions state, keeping the cat and installing a high-flow unit helps low end.

Good luck with the mods and keep us posted.

"...and I don't agree that the cat should come out. Even if you live in a no-emissions state, keeping the cat and installing a high-flow unit helps low end..."

Umm i already took it out, well my previous owner did.

Would 450cc injectors flood the engine @ idle when not as much fuel is needed? Also, a 50 wet shot is more reliable? (if it passes a compression test), i have to drive it to school n work, my school is like 30k miles away per day LOL, so my average miles driven a day (not including weekends) would have to be 150-200k a week.

 you lost me there...

as for the 450cc's, i dont think it would flood if you get a S-AFC.

The larger the shot the more chance of it ####ing up, specially on stock internals. And I also think it wouldn't be worth getting larger injectors unless you are getting the nitrous or going turbo... but from what ive heard the stock eclipse injectors should be good enough for a small shot, atleast on the 4g63... i dont really know much about the 420a.
