red head lights?

im looking for a set of red tinted head lights that arent going to be dimmer than the factory bulbs. i know i know, its kinda rice and probably illegal, but im looking for something a little different. anyone know of somewhere i can get these?

ehh yeah I really wouldnt recommend it. Also adding anything onto the exterior (I think that's what your talkin about if you say tinted) you are going to lose rather than gain or remain the same as in lightness of the bulbs. If you want the red, it is up to you. I would actually take the headlight apart and paint the black housing red. This will give you the effect you want. This will also look a lot better, and you will have the same amount of light as you did before. Well, goodluck with it.

nah hes not in cali, any other place couldnt give a shit what color the light was as long as it worked and emitted any sort of light.

to do so you would have to use color tint film...highly illegal... and no it's not different, i've seen plenty of accords with tinted headlights at shows, it doesnt look all that great and distracts from the car

Very likely very illegal. A red headlight could confuse the opposing traffic into thinking that s/he's looking at a tailight. Not to mention illumination will probably be compromised also.

ive seen them on cars where the actual light emitted is red, but when you look at the lights in the car it appears to be a red color. kinda like if you have played nfsu2, the different head light options allow you to have a redish tint to your head light. i dunno.

and i dont think id get pulled over all that often as long as the actual light emitted was white, but who knows...

find me the state law that doesn't have a section regarding 'no red lightt emitting on the front of the vehicle'. Only white and amber on the front, and only red and amber in the back. it isn't a where you live thing, it's a finding the cop who thinks it's an important law thing. I can only speak for oregon here, but there are plenty of cops who care here. I also ran with red lights on the front of my car (where the side markers are) for a while.. about 4 months until i got pulled over and was given a ticket - and that's in "hicksville" oregon where all cops do is harrass us young folk.

When I see the wrong lights in the wrong lane, it's a problem. If I saw red lights coming towards me, I'd be really freakin confused - and if I'm confused, then there are a lot more people out there who'd do even worse.

To say nothing of what you'd be losing by filtering out 2/3ds of the visible spectrum.

Yeah. Not a bright idea. You could go with a Plasma Bulb if you wan't all the different colors. My friend Adil with a 00+Civc has these crazy Plasma bulbs that change from like 6 different colors. Red, Purple, Pink, Green, Blue. It is amazing how it does it. It looks so freaking awesome coming down the road while you see different colors at every angle. But it does jack crap for lighting on the road.

i dont want full on red head lights! i could paint my head light lenses and get that!

there are light bulbs that put out bright white light but when you look at them they have like a red halo. i dont want full on red head lights. ill find a picture of what i want.

also, i dont wanna come off as an ass, but i didnt really ask if you thought it was a good idea to put them on my car, i just wanted to know where to get them. did i say id be driving all over the place with them? no. i know they are most likely illegal. my car does do shows though and something like that might attract a little attention and make the judges go "hey, here's a fine peice of rice. lets give him a trophy." without me slapping a body kit and altezzas on there.

blah, once again, i didnt think i needed to get you guys' approval before you told me where to get the lights. i did not ask IF i should get the lights, i only asked WHERE i can get the lights. its great how you guys dont even read the rules on the board. be polite and dont go making judgements unless you're asked. i didnt ask what you guys thought of them only if you knew where to get them.

Get yourself some 8000+ Kelvin HID headlights. Expensive? Yes. Will it give you that purpleish red color that you are looking for? Yes.

I have a set of headlights sitting that emit WHITE light, however, when the light hits something (aka a white car) the light is then GREEN on the surface its hitting ONLY.. These are just bulbs, but still rather a cool effect that one would REALLY have to be looking for to even spot. Very subtle.

Also when there on and one looks inside the housing it has a prismatic multi-color effect.
