I have a 14b on my car. Since i bought my car back in may, it came with no exhaust system, so i just recently ordered a 3" downpipe, and with the income tax money i'm doing the rest of the 3" custom exhaust, but now i'm stumped on the o2 housing.

I am stuck between keeping the stock one and porting it, getting a aftermarket recirc'ed housing, or a vented one, anyone know which would be the better choice and why ?

Friends would tell me not to bother porting the stocker since with a few bucks more i can just get an aftermarket one, they do have a point, that, and also i have in mind a chance of boost creeping.

Thanks for any help.

I'd say get a recir. O2 housing, no need for all the extra noise with a vented O2... especially for street use... if it was strictly a track car i'd say vented.

Well i really don't mind the noise, i mean, i'm going to be driving it normal so the wastegate won't sound, unless i decide to go to the weekend hangouts and run someone, otherwise it's ok, but taking noise out of context, what would you do ?

Well the dumped o2 housing is a little better flowing then the recirculated one because it lets the exhaust escape earlier, kinda like a cut out. They are also illegal for street use because it doesn't go through a cat (at least i think that's why). If you have a stock o2 housing available i would say port it, otherwise get a recirculated one for street use. That way you can actually hear your bov and the entire town won't know it when your speeding

Good point jwahl.

Anyone else want to chime in before this week starts and i make a decision ?
I'd really appreciate any opinions i get extra.
