I dont' know anyone that rebuilt a t-25...usually they upgrade when it goes out. Just for reference, my evo16g cost $150 for the rebuild kit and $50 for labor/shipping.

mine is also going in to be rebuilt at majestic turbo in waco texas today. I want to upgrade but i'm not paying for the rebuild so i do not have much say it it.

why would you want to rebuild your t-25 turbo. just go with the t-28 its better!!!!!!

Yea, but it ain't cheap. If you have the cash do it, otherwise you could pick up a 14b for the price of a t25 rebuild. You might even be able to find a used 16g or t-28 if your lucky.

I know this doesn't help you get an answer, but like the other guys have said at least a 14b is in order. If you need to replace it, you may as well upgrade it.

To threadjack here, how hard is it for an inexperienced car guy to upgrade? Do you have to drill any holes for new oil feeds or anything like that, or is it a straight bolt on? Did your gas mileage get affected by the increased power, severely or none to little?

pretty easy. it depends on the turbo, but it's mostly bolt up. unless you go with something that needs to be fed from the oil filter housing, it'll still come from the head. gas mileage depends also. of course if you are gunning it to redline, your gas mileage will suffer because you are pushing in more air, but if you you keep it before boost (which should be a little higher with a bigger turbo), it'll be the same or better.

2 years ago I did my own turbo install upgrade. I had NEvEr worked on the car before, but decided to save some money. Pretty easy and straight forward. Use some tape to labe if need be. :thumb:
