Rear link assembly: I'm guessing it shouldn't look like this

Was trying to diagnose a slight light knocking/rattle noise coming from directly behind me (as in the driver's seat), and dropped under the car to take a look at the suspension. Couldn't see anything loose but I did see the rear link assembly attached to the sway bar looking like this:

I'm assuming the bottom bolt shouldn't be pointing upwards as it does here. Now, could this be causing something to touch and create a knocking sound? And secondly, am I right in thinking I should be ordering a new set of rear links assembly parts?

if they are bad you should have some play in them. and that would have a knocking sound if they are bad
