Rear link assembly: I'm guessing it shouldn't look like this

Was trying to diagnose a slight light knocking/rattle noise coming from directly behind me (as in the driver's seat), and dropped under the car to take a look at the suspension. Couldn't see anything loose but I did see the rear link assembly attached to the sway bar looking like this:

I'm assuming the bottom bolt shouldn't be pointing upwards as it does here. Now, could this be causing something to touch and create a knocking sound? And secondly, am I right in thinking I should be ordering a new set of rear links assembly parts?

if they are bad you should have some play in them. and that would have a knocking sound if they are bad

I've decided that if you can turn/move the ball around easily by hand once they are disconnected then that link is worn out. They should be really tight and hard to move.

The angle on the mount has nothing to do with any noise.
