So I am planning on buying the baer big brake track kit here soon and was looking at different alternatives for the rear upgrade. I found a AEM Rear rotor kit and was wondering if I should just go with that.. for 299.00 or if I should just go with some drilled and slotted rotors and some pads and a call it a day... Any and all opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated...especially those of you who have the AEM Rear rotor kit. Thanks.

If i'm not mistaken, the rear rotors from an Evo 8 are direct bolt ons...i dunno if this would be cheaper than to buy Rotors from AEM though...

yeah it looks like it would ###### be around the same price for the Evo rotors than the AEM ones. Thanks for the info though...

The more brake you have in the front, the less you need in the rear. Powerslots and some decent pads will be more than fine for the back....

Your fronts are way more important than the rears. Your rears will help you stop some. I don't think upgrading them would be worth even 200 dollars, unless it gives you the piece of mind that you've got them back there. Invest 95% of your money for stopping on the front brakes, then buy some pads for the rear and maybe some Evo/Powerslots for the rear.

alright... thanks everyone for all the responses... helped a lot... Im sure to look into some powerslot and some good pads when I do decide to do the brake system upgrade. Does anyone know if the Baer system for the front comes with any kind of brake line kit or anything.. or is it just the rotors and the calipers.. and brake pads. Just kinda curious.. thanks again.

Actually, a few years ago Power Slot purchased AEMs "big brake" line. It's now called Power Slot Plus. I run a set F/R on my car. Nice package with everything required......rotors, offset brackets, and fastening hardware. I paid ~$900 F/R complete with shipping to the door 2 years ago.

yeah I kinda realized that last night when I looked Power Slot up... and said exactly that. But yeah... ###### just gonna go with the Baer front kit and then like some drilled and slotted rotors and pads for the back...

As mentioned above, your fronts are more important than your rears, so are you going big for apearance, spirited driving, or track.
300 isn't bad for a big brake kit, but isnt the aem kit just a larger rotor and the caliper extension brackets? Correct me if im wrong.
If you do decide to put on some slotted rotors, and it's a daily driver, I would stray away. If you can, get some rotors that are cross drilled only. The cross drilled rotors are much better on pad life.

As mentioned above, your fronts are more important than your rears.
This is true, but not to say that the rear brakes are not important. When you upgrade the front and not the rear you shift even more brake bias to an already front-biased system. You may not gain any performance. It is beneficial to upgrade the rears at the same time or at least consider a more aggressive pad material.
