reading the maft manuel

i have a 92 eagel talon awd i have a 1.3 maft i got the manuel but i dont understand what everything means can someone please help on reading the manuel?????:confused:
 
ok set your base setting (injector size) then simpy turn the knobs for richer or leaner settings. for instance i have version 2.02 and i set my base at 7 and my aux at 1 for 650cc injectors and then i lean on the first knob( counter clockwise) a click or two (just until it idles right) and then i keep my mid and wot knobs at zero (or i try to) because i fine tune with afc, but you can use those knobs to richen or lean out the fuel trims. i strongly suggest you have a logger wen doing this.
 
First off, make sure you DO NOT try to use injector settings suggested by people who run MAFT v2.02.
In v1.3, ijector size is dialed by [BASE] knob only. not by combination of [BASE] and [AUX] knobs, like on v2.02.

Assuming you hooked everything up right (in other words, you plugged it in, and tapped white wire from MAFT into CAS wire for rpm signal), Start by choosing your MAS size. Use four dip-switches in the MAFT box to dial correct MAS (3"/3.5"). The combination of switches to select proper MAS size is listed in the manual.
Next, select injector size, by dialing [BASE] knob to the number, corresponding to your injector size from the Inj. Size table in the manual.

Once that's set, you're ready to turn ignition on and see if MAFT powers up (LED will blink).

Then you start the car WITH A LOGGER. In many cases, MAF 'presets' for injector size compensation are way off. First, get the idle up to norm (by SAFC or [idle] knob on MAFT), then work with [mid] and [wot] settings.

and that of course is because version 2.02 has more settings for injector sizing (which most likely isnt really needed unless you have an oddball injector sizing e.g. 535cc's LOL.)

the maft isnt as plug and play (like its supposed to be) as it seems to be , you have to play around with the knobs to make it run correct, they say the maft blow thru setup flows about 800% more air the the stock maf so it may need a little compentsation due to the more air metered(which is where the little knob come in LOL) lean it or richen it , you will know if its right when you hear the idle get smooth, then USE YOUR LOGGER and tune with mid and wot, good luck =)

I feel your pain i went through hell setting my 1g i even went so far as to write the company. Basically everything was set up as described in the manual exept i had to set one of my dip switches to the 3.5" maf instead of the 3" maf setting. Everything else was correct accorrding to the manual as far as car select and injector size. And it's worth all the effort in my case only slight tuning was required for my set up good luck.
