Raising boost levels while keeping car not moving

Aside from putting the car on a lift or a dyno, how can I get the car to boost, so that I can pinpoint where the noise is coming from in my car, without being to dangerous or expensive? Or is there a way to raise the boost while in neutral?

do a boost leak test. it pressurizes the system with out the engine runnine... Verry easy to find the leaks.. Also cans be done with home made parts ... check the vfaq.

i have never heard of a way to create boost while the vehicle is in neutral, you need LOAD to create the exhaust pressure to spool the turbo. Have someone rev your engine up while you watch the wastegate lever on the turbo. It doesnt move while in neutral, i.e,: it is not like the wastegate is allowing the exhaust to get past the turbo, it just isnt there with out LOAD. hope that helps bro.

You'll need an air compressor too. Forget about hand pumps. And if you have one with an adjustable regulator, you can use a quick-connect fitting on your tester and use the regulator to keep feeding air to the system while you listen for where its leaking.
