Alright so I havent gotten my j pipe in the mail yet and I need to get my eclipse home from my dad's work and I need to know if the car will be fine to be driven maybe 45-50 miles home without the j pipe or will something happen? Thanks

In the hometown of DSM's or anywhree I guess don't drive without a J pipe.

That would just be inviting car problems and possibly safety problems.

It would be the biggest boost leak ever.

If you're referring to the pipe that bolts to the compressor outlet of a 14b or 16G style turbo then the car will barely even be driveable without it. It wouldn't be a good idea at all to even try that.

Your profile says everything is stock (stock 2G's don't have j-pipes). Are you sure you're referring to the same pipe that I just mentioned?

A.) Extremely bad idea
B.) Hot exhaust gasses going Directly into your engine bay.

The J pipe points up, and if your driving, what do you think the exhaust gasses are gonna do coming out of the turbo?

If he really does mean j-pipe in the usual sense then it would have nothing to do with the exhaust side of the turbo.;)

Don't post bad info. It won't work though because the jpipe suplies the compressed air from the turb NOT exhaust gasses like he stated. You will have the biggest boost leak known to man and the I doubt would make it.

No I am talkign about a j pipe. I put a 1g 7 bolt motor onto the car hence it needing a j pipe.....

If I am understanding you correctly you swapped over the stock 14b turbo with the 1G motor swap. If that's the case then no you will not be able to make the 45-50 mile drive without the j-pipe. The car will have trouble idling let alone being driven. Even if you could get the car to drive well enough to make it you would be running so ridiculously rich that it would be harming the motor.

stock 13g?

I thought first gens came with 14bs and 2nd gens with t25s.
or maybe im going crazy?
