I have 680cc injectors and a rewired 190lph fuel pump on my 1g. A guy at school is telling me my 190lph pump is not able to flow enough to keep up with my 680cc injectors, (which is why I am having instant extreme amounts of knock as soon as I go into boost, any boost at all.) Is this even a valid statement.

It depends i am running 680's and i have a walbro 255 in there. Check your fuel pressure and see where your at.

How much psi are you running and on what turbo? 190lph is enough to flow for 680's. I used one on my 2g GST with 660's and never got any knock once it was tuned. Flowed perfect in the high 40's for Fuel Pressure.

16g? I don't think it can flow enough air to max out a 190. How much fuel your ecu decides to inject into the system is based on air flow, not the size of your injectors, as long as it's properly tuned. Is your eprom setup specifically for 680CCs? If so, I think your problem is else where.

Are you still running BPR6ES plugs? If so your knock is possibly coming from there. You need to up the plugs to 7ES's

Thanks for the replies. My EPROM chip is burnt for 680cc compensation so it shouldn't be that, and the car was running just fine with the chip a couple weeks ago. The turbo is a evo 16g @10lbs of boost, but the knock comes as soon as I come into boost. My fuel pressure is right at 37psi at idle... I am getting some time on a dyno soon, so I or they will be able to watch the fuel pressure gauge under hood while the car is under a load.

Thanks again for the comments.

Fuel pressure should be at about 28psi with the vacuum hose connected. Did you upgrade your fuel pump? I didn't see it in your profile.
