So my car has crankwalk. Its still under extended warranty, just bought the car 3 months ago. On average, how long do you guys think it would take for Mtisu to replace the motor and get the car running? Just trying to figure out how long the car is going to be gone. Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question but I've always wanted to know...what exactly does it feel like when the motor crankwalks? Does the motor shoot smoke? stall? no turn over? idle crappy and doesn't drive? What happens right before it odd noises, vibration etc?

I havent read anywhere that tells me what it feels like when the motor crankwalks and what it does.

Well the motor itself doesnt feel all the different. The clutch is what feels different. Pretty much the clutch just falls to the floor during a left hand turn and even when the car is straight. Also, the clutch wont come back up, it stays down on the floor when you press it. I know it isnt the clutch, master cylinder, or slave cylinder because I have replaced all of thos trying to fix this problem.

It really depends on the dealership. I've seen two days, I've seen two months.

Actually most of all dealerships dont warranty the work...if the dealership manager want to they will...some dealership do a one tiem thing to replace motor...the sucky thing is that like 50% of cars would crankwalk but mitsu did not have recall..and alot of people that had crankwalked motor the dealership would not cover..but the dealership might cover it for you.but you have to be on the ass about it..

I can barely read this. If his extended warranty covers the things he will need to replace (and why would he have an extended warranty if it didn't cover the engine) the work will be done.

I could read it just fine....well we will see...there are what we call LOOP holes...honestly I hope i am wrong so they will fix it...but if not well then i wont say I told you so..

your in the same boat as i am.
im waitin for my crankwalk to get worst...still got like 10k left on extended warranty, my car is still running fine just the cluth problem thingy on left hand turns and sometime straight when im brakin.
welps hopefully i can get my tranny fix so 2nd gear won't grind and get the crankwalk fix under extended warranty which is from a third party and not mitsu.

right, my warranty is through GE and not through mitsu. Mitsu told me that the warrantey will cover everything that needs to be replaced. They havent told me what they were replacing yet, I would assume a new shortblock is going to go in.
