I am gonna be rebuilding my engine, its a Evo III, is there anything special that i need to do other than what i am listing below, i wanna use aftermarket rods but is it really worth it.

This is my plans for the car, keep it daily driver and when i go to the track turn the boost, i am using a GT40 set up aKa 56 trim. I plan on using a very small shot of nitrous when needed to spool the turbo quickly unless someone can suggest something better.

Plans for the rebuild are:

weisco piston 9.1 (.20 overbore)
aftermaket rods or shot peen and polish the stock 2g's ( anyone know where to buy lower priced rods-lowest i could find are scat and they were like 320.00)
new rod and main bearings
bore the block .20 over
line bore the crank
knife edge the crank

This is my first rebuild i don't want a shop to lead me in the wrong direction is there anything that i can do or i am missing.

You aren't going to get away with stock rods with that setup. The 56 trim Garrett GT turbo is GT35 not GT40. Did you get it from AGP?

I bought the car with all stuff on it, the guy told me it had a GT 40 set up on it, i can look at the turbo and give you any numbers on it to identify it. Yes he got it from AGP, it was on his SR-T4.

I looked on the turbo on the intake side the housing has AR .060

For some unknown reason AGP has always referred to the GT35 wheel as the 56 trim GT40.
