question about my exhaust

Hi. im removin mt catylitic converter and i was lookin at the o2 sensor. if i replace the cat with a stright pipe won't the o2 sensor make the check engine light come on? there are no emissions testing here so im not worried about that but im not sure about the check engine light. thanks for any input. oh how much louder will it be? just wondering.

yes it will. i have a high flow cat and it still set it off. i just did this two days ago. to get rid of it, remove your front seat. cut the carpet a little so you can get to the 4 wires that go into the floor board. then you cut the black one and wire in a 1 mega-ohm 1/4 watt resistor in line. it cleared it right up

thanks. wheres the best place to get a resistor? im takin an electroincs class and can probably get one from my teacher though. oh where about did you make the cut?

if you cant get it from your teacher just go to radio shack, it was $.99 for 5 of them. there is already a cut under the seat. lift it up and look towards the back passanger side of the car. you will see the 4 wires coming up through the floor. then just cut the carpet so you can get to the wires to solder them. you will know what im talking about when you look at it.
