ps/alt. belt broke,overheated.

Didn't get over heated long, when i start it, it will smoke out of the oil filter thing on the valve cover, doesn't really want to build rpms, and when it does its real slow, like i can stomp it and it really doesn't even do anything, i try to take off and it just dies.

if it is the head, do you think the block is fine.

Is this on a DSM?

You can easily run a compression test on each cylinder and find out what is going on.

Friend of mine had a similar problem and it was due to the water pump belt. It was on wrong somehow
