I've searched the entire website. Please don't get mad at me and just help me answer my question.

Profec B Spec 2 electronic boost controller into a Tial 35mm Wastegate. The instructions that came with the boost controller suck.

I have the NC hole going to a pressure source, and the COM hole going to the Wastegate. Where on the wastegate does this go? The instructions say "top". How in the hell do they know how my wastegate is sitting and which side is the "top"?

On the wastegate, there are 2 fittings. Applying pressure to one fitting opens the wastegate, while applying pressure to the other fitting holds the wastegate shut. Which one of these fittings does the COM side of the solenoid go? And then, after the solenoid is connected, do I do anything else with the other fitting on the wastegate?

I hooked it up the way I thought the instructions told me to, but something was very wrong, and backwards. Less boost according to the boost controller meant more boost, and more boost gave me less. Then when the boost reached "Warning" and hit the limited, boost shot up to 23 psi instead of dropping to 4 psi. Like I said, all bass-ackwards.

Please help. I'm finding no information anywhere.

It's funny as I have the same EBC and I just got my 44mm Tial wastegate. I plan on getting it installed in a few days or next weekend. Anyways. I was doing some extensive searching and Tial's website has the dumbest instructions that seem almost backwards.

From what I can tell the bottom nipple is where you hook up the pressure source and the top can be vented to atmosphere. I don't know about the 38mm Tial but the 44 will not open at all without the boost. I must have put about 40 lbs on the valve with my hands and couldn't get it to open. I put some pressure on the bottom nipple and it creeped slightly. Amazing wastegate. I imagine you can hook up the EBC to the bottom nipple as you would for an internal wastegate and leave the top just open and it would work. Or as far as I can tell you can tee off the pressure source line and put one on the bottom and the other to the EBC NC port and the COM to the top nipple of the wastegate. That is how it looks like it should be hooked up. But that doesn't make much sense to me. That is how the instructions for both the Profec and the Tial kind of say to hook it up.

Here is the Tial instructions webpage.

If that doesn't work I'm just going to hook it up as an internal wastegate and hook it up to the bottom nipple and leave the top one open.

What you need is a good dedicated pressure source from your intake manifold, then T it off. Send on side of the T to the side port of your wastegate and the other side in to the NC on the solenoid. Then send a hose from the COM side of the solenoid to the top of the wastegate. Works awesome, boost response is awesome with my gain set to full on my Profec b type s.

Just follow what Maglin said and you will be fine.

Right or wrong, this is how my Profec B Spec2 is set up.

Intake Manifold Pressure Source to the NO Connection on Profec Controller
COM connection on Profec Controller to the "bottom" connection on My TiAL (connection closest to the exhaust valve)

NC on the Profec is left vented
"Top" connection on the TiAL is left vented (connection furthest away from the exhaust valve)

My current WG is a TiAL 44, but I used the very same connections on my previous setup which was a TiAL 38

I do use a 1bar spring in the Wastegate(s) and so far this works great all the way up to 28psi with no "lifting" of the valve.

Hope this helps.
