Hello everybody,

I am 90% sure that i'm going to go with the RS49T 50 trim for my turbo upgrade (from t25). I'm going to go internal gating simply because i cannot afford to go external yet. My questions are this, for people who have experience with this turbo: Did you get both the oil feed and return along with it from AGP? Were there any significant issues with the install that i should prepare for?

A second question for everybody is this... i've read many posts here on 50 trims and consider myself pretty much educated enough to decide on this turbo... but does anybody else have a big suggestion for an alternative? i have looked at the SBR 50 trim, but it seems that the RS49T is more of a simple bolt on affair.

my mods when i install the turbo will be as follows: SAFC II, 3" dejon intake, full RNR 3" turboback exhaust, 660's (FIC), walbro 255 with AFPR, dejon 2 stage MBC, dejon race FMIC, and suspension mods (wont list here).

thanks ahead of time :) :sneaky:

Both the SBR 50trim and the AGP turbos are bolt on since they use a DSM style manifold. Another 50trim turbo is sold by PTE (sold on slowboy). If you are looking for a bolt-on turbo just make sure that they use a DSM manifold. Slowboy makes their own compressor and turbine housing and uses Turbonetics CHRA on the 50trim.

This thread below might answer your question, this guy bought the turbo and posted on 06/25.

Your mods are enough for a 50trim. :thumb:

you're good enough for a 50 trim. I just purchased the SBR 50 trim and yes, I had to dent the crap out of the water pipe to work. Thankfully it's a brand new water pipe so it took the beating ROFL . Either one is a fine choice, SBR even polished my comp. cover for free :) but, a big deciding factor is the 1 year warranty that the RS49T comes with.

I went from the T28 to the RS49T

one problem is the gasket is didferent 6cm vs 7cm
and if you're on the stock manifold, the outlet wouldn't match the RS49T, so you wont be gettin full use of the .63 housing.

I went with Ported SRB manifold and 7cm gasket.
perfect match :thumb:

i was actually going to port out my stock 2g mani a bit, as i cant afford an aftermarket one yet. so i suppose a follow-up question is... what gaskets did you guys buy in addition to the turbo? did you replace both of them, and did you buy them from AGP?

thanks again for the replies
