Pressure wash Engine?

I just use some degreaser and the garden hose on my engine just put a bag over your air filter and disconnect the battery. This is what I have always done with no bad side effects.

My recommendations on pressure washing the engine are, "Don't try it" :nono: I've heard many stories from people about how after they pressure washed their engine, something went wrong, (i.e. theres many, many electrical things in there that dont like to get wet, especially with seals 15yrs old.

i take mine to the 25 cent car wash press engine degresser and have at it some people tell me to leave the engine on so you can see if it wants to stall from water getting into the intake but if you dont like that Tooth brush and some soap :thumb:

I did it. It took two days in the sun for it to dry out enough to run again.

If you have never been in 'limp' mode, you probably will if you try the pressure washer.

Agree. A hose/brush should be safe, but try to avoid anything near the intake manifold/plug wire area.

I pressure wash my engine all the time and have no problems with it, i dont even cover the air filter... just gotta be smart enough not to spray the filter. i try not to spray the valve cover or the exhaust manifold or anything in that area, but everything else is fine so far

hahah you even gave the simple green website ROFL but yes simple green a tooth brush and acouple of drinks. some music and some time. it will look realy good :thumb:
