I'm throwing this out there so I can be sure to give as much notice as possible. If you are even remotely interested in rally racing and know your way around a garage, then chances are good that you can be a very much appreciated member of a rally team for a weekend and get a taste of this lifestyle.

There is no other form of motorsport like rally. Prescott will have opportunities to volunteer for teams service crews, where you have fifteen minutes to troubleshoot and repair a rally car before it has to be back out on stage, and for the event, where you might be helping with time control stops or keeping a section of road blocked off so the rally cars can fly past you at 100mph or more.

I went to this event last year and I've been hooked ever since. The event usually arragnes severely discounted room rates (I've heard as low at $20 a night) at the main hotel and some teams will comp their crew's accommodations and meals, meaning you could spend a weekend working (more like playing, really) rally and spend only gas to get to Prescott.

There will be an after party as well. Give it a try and you will be hooked like me.

I would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone might have, but I'm hoping to see some DSMers in Arizona possibly step up to the plate and show an interest in helping out.

Thanks.
B

I would be intertested in this. A lot of my family lives in Prescott and that is were I was born. I have to see when I am supposed to take my series 7 test. If it isn't too close to that date I would like to do it.

Off toipc PM ;)
You're totally losing me, man. No idea.

I hope you can make it, Mike. It's a good time. With your engine pulling techniques, you could be the man of the hour. :rocks:

EDIT:
Not that there's any chance of an engine pull. LOL

LOL sorry about the confused thing but i send you a pm about al the info to join az2gnt.net. but no reply.

but so i don't go off topic. I will be going to the Prescott Rally, just gotta get my vacations set up! LOL

I set you up with an account on az2gnt back on May 7th, man. I've got the 323 at netzero address showing in the database. If it's changed, send me another PM with the correct one and I'll set you up again.

I hope to see all of you guys there. Mustafa has told me that he needs crew for Prescott. This guy has a 425awhp GVR4, a blender that runs on 104 octane race gas, and never buys cheap beer. He's coming over to my place this Wednesday to help me seam weld the chassis and yank the ABS on my Galant prior to dropping the engine back in it.

Here is the current entry list for this event. You will be seeing all of these cars all weekend long - from the tech inspection Friday morning to the after rally party Saturday night. We've still got over a month to go, so expect to see a couple Evos show up on that list too.

This is a really good time and you WILL feel appreciated the entire time.

Just over two weeks left to this event! We have six people signed up for the Neon team, but i would still like to get a couple DSMers willing to volunteer to help out my buddy with the GVR4. Do I have any takers? We will be caravaning from Phoenix that Friday, early in the morning.

Let me know!

damn dude, i have to help fix my friends cobra. I'd love to check this out.

Good luck ya'll
