Ok I have my power transistor in my car. Just realized what it is.

Is this suppose to be grounded out? What I mean is that my transistor is just free hanging its not mounted to anything just kinda there. It's by the tb.

I seen on some pictures that it has a copper looking mount that its connected to. Will this affect anything or does it not matter as long as its pluged in?

It has a ground wire in the harness, but it should be mounted to help prevent damage from static discharge, or vibraiton, and if I'm not mistaken the bracket may even serve as a heat sink.

But hey, if it works it works right?

Haha that's the problem not sure if it does work right now. How can I test it to see if it work. I have major misfire issues after 2500 rpm. So I know wires are bad and that's where im starting. But if I knew how to test then would be able to see if I have to worry if its good or bad. Just want to get the bad stuff out of the way and go from there. I have to try n remeber how to ohm my coil packs too

Ok is there somewhere I can buy just a bracket for the transistor... also where exactly on the head does it mount to? The bracket is nowhere to be found.
