Just installed my new 2.3l motor and around 5500 rpms it kinda feels like it hit a governor, it will continue to climb but very slowly from 5500-7000 rpms. I hit 17-18 psi at about 3800 rpm, and creeps to about 20-21 at 7000 rpms. Im running the same tune i had before the motor got built as well, just on 1-2 less psi now.
Heres what was done to the motor
4g64 crank, 2.3l
malney pistons and rods, 8.5:1 comp ratio
272 cams
1-2 LESS psi on a 20g
ngk br7es instead of pos autolite platinum plugs
Ive checked for boost leaks and the only ones im getting is a small leak from the throttle body, and a small leak from the hole on the boost controller nipple, it holds boost well when blt with only a small drop off in pressure. Leaks were there previously as well. Also no exhaust leaks either.
