Post Pictures of your 1G Cages!! Trying to decide!!

Hey everyone whats up .. heres the deal ..

Im going to start some automotive schooling at Wyotech (PA) in the beginning of next year. While enrolled as a student .. in certain courses with good attendance and grades, ect the professor will let you use your vehicle as your project. You pay for materials and then do all your own work .. If you dont have a vehicle they provide one. Well for one of my projects i will be installing an interior cage in my car, (as well as possibly doing some chassis stiffening, intercooler pipe fab'ing as well as intakes ect later on down the road throughout other courses). For this thread though id like to see some peoples cages they have installed in there 1st generations. Id like some imput from people too as too what spots have been proven as stronger points and help the most with sway as well as over all strength.. ect! Basically any Eclipse Talon Laser 89-94 with a cage id love to see your pictures.

Im trying to gather ideas so i can deside which design to use as well as how many points 6,8,ect and positioning.

I currently drive a 90 GST which is pretty heavily modded and still under heavy construction. The cage isnt going to be COMPLETELY a neccessity but more of just a cool thing to add on since i will be doing the same work anyway. Might as well kill two birds with one stone and get a grade for it while im at it!!

Check my profile. To be effective the X really needs to be boxed in, but I only wanted a NHRA legal cage at the time, with plans to add on in the future. I would attach the rear points to the floorpan if I were doing it again. Shocks aren't laterally loaded.

Nobody likes the way I built mine cept for me. I used low bars for it becaues the places that I go with the car dont care, and I didnt want it to be in the way of daily driving.

I like it .. i think its cool how its out of the way too.


Is it legal as far as most tracks are concerned or not?



I also noticed you had the 1g Nitrous Explosion on camera of the 04 shootout! .. i actually ended up getting that on video!! .. it was pretty wild and people were like completely quiet for like 2 minutes straight. I could hear the staff's shoes sticking to the track from where i was sitting in the camera.

I really dont know how most tracks would react. I know how our local tracks are and this will work just fine.

The fires I just stole the pics to post elsewhere. I really wanted to go this year but neither of the cars were running. There is alot of info on mine and my buddys 97 gsx build up on his website
