I have some time while I have the motor at the machine shop so I thought I'd try to shave and polish my valve cover

First I started with a grinder and cut off wheel to shave the big parts and raised lettering off

After I was able to remove the lettering and lines I started with 80 grit sand paper and worked my was from 150, 220, 320, and then 600 grit paper. I hit it with a mothers power ball quick to see how it looked and there were a few scratches and nicks in it yet, so I will have to re hit it again. It will have a black cop on it and not this plug cover.

Nice! I have a shaved one at the shop as well but needs a little more elbow grease to make it look better LOL

I shaved a valve cover once just to see if I could do it. It turned out pretty good, but it's a lot of work. Hat is off to ya! Looks cool.
