Hey guys sorry If this has been covered but I have been searching all over the forums for the last week about information on DSM idle surge, and i found a decent amount for 2.0 DOHC N/T & Turbo, but nothing about 2.4 L SOHC.
I been having idle surges that only happen after the car is warm. I had quite a few codes to go through considering the lady I got it from did no maintenance. I nailed all the codes down by changing my coolant (HORRIBLY GROSS) changing my thermostat, new front O2 sensor, and just pulled my EGR and completely cleaned in and rammed almost a foot of wire up each side of the intake and knocked it clean which was almost completely closed off. Cleaned my plugs (stock NGK's that looked GREAT just white carbon on all 4 cylinders), even used a can of Intake cleaner and now 2 cans of Sea foam new oil, filter AND found a yellow oil pressure sending unit that was broken off the entire time. Now I have yet to get another CEL code BUT it still hasnt helped my fix my surge! even looked for vacuum leaks but don't hear anything unusual except for what sounds like my cam making noise only at idle but that's normal I think..
It doesn't do it ALL the time, doesn't do it while it's running either. Only when It has been shut off while it's hot and I start it back up from a grocery store or a short stop! Its Driving me NUTS!
I have looked everywhere for a way to test my ISC/IAC but only found information on how to test the 2.0 DOHC my plugs look different they are all 6 pins in a vertical line and I would like to know how many coils and the resistance these engines have on them and any help on fixing this issue would be GREATLY appreciated!!
---also turning on the A/C kicks up idle fine, shutting off kicks it down fine, normall idles fine just so random and annoying >.<
