ive searched this for a while and cant find anything specific to my car...so i figured this was the easiest fastest way...i have a 98 gsx with a 6 bolt swap and im trying to set the base timing and i found these two clips on the fire wall. i started the car and when i grounded the black one it sparked...the blue one had 2 wires and the black one has one...just want to make sure im doing this right...thanks

The one with one wire you ground out to set the timing and the one with two wires is a remote tach plug in.

i just grounded the black clip...the one with the one wire...it started to melt. wtf is up with that? also there is a clip that come off of the black one...doesnt seem to do much tho

stop grounding that wire out already, you apply positive to that wire to turn on your fuel pump for diagnostics
Wow, a right answer for once.

ya i did when it got hot i figured out that deffinietly wasnt it...still need to know the answer to this though

As far as i know, the later 2g's didn't come with a plug to ground the timing under the hood.

so you just time it without grounding it then...the cars running really good i put down some pretty good times with it but i really want to see where the timing is...especially if its retarded
