Hey guys. Can someone give me a quick explaination on how VPC work. I'm about to pick up a used set and have some specific questions.

1. What parts should come with?
2. I was looking for a Eprom ECU when I came across this, if I go with the VPC, do I still need a Eprom ECU?
3. Can I eliminate my safc?
4. I'm assuming it needs a air meter like GM maf, oes that mean I have to purchase new uper IC pipe?

5. Is this really worth the trouble? I currently have safc, 2g mass setup.

Thanks guys.

Probably really not worth the effort unless you're in the 10's or faster.

Should come with the "box", cables (car specific), and I believe it comes with both a temp probe and a pressure sensor. It eliminates the MAF and turns the car into a speed-density setup for an absolute minimum of intake restriction. You need to have the proper chip in the VPC for your injectors if you want to eliminate the SAFC. Personally, I'd keep the SAFC for the fine tuning capability that it has and just use the VPC for the free flowing intake aspect. If you can get a VPC and GCC combo, then eliminating the SAFC is a little more reasonable, but once again, I personally would keep all of them to better help in fine tuning the curve (I run a VPC/GCC combo and wouldn't mind adding an SAFC...).

Thanks for the reply, I didn't think I was gonna get one. The reason I was considering this rout was b/c some guy was selling a complete set for $400, kinda hard to pass on. The deal fell through so I'll save the money for an Eprom ECU instead. :thumb:

I'm using a VPC/GCC and I love it. It's simple to tune and it just plain works. There are guys having good luck with MAFTs and other things, but I still think the VPC is the best thing out there short of a stand-alone. If you get one, make sure it has the main unit, air temp probe, and MAP sensor. The harness can be hardwired if it's from a different car and the chip can be replaced easily.

With the VPC's map sensor, where on the intake manifold do you take the signal from, and should it be shared with anything else?

Not to hijack or anthing but TORT I think I talked to you before at atco raceway. You and your buddy with the red talon. Just wanted to let you know you dropped my friends jaw with that run :p It was awsome I should have bet him money or something hahaha. But I have a few questions about the vpc. If you could pm me that would be kool.

VPC and DSMLINK work fine together. The airflow gets capped around 2.40 g/rev, thats all. You need to compensate with DSMLINK to bring your ignition timing back down because of it.
