hey everyone I went to buy this GSX that looked really clean but the body was in worse shape than I thought the main thing I didn’t know about was the plastic paneling above the doors was separated from the roof with a big gap and I’m not sure how much these are to replace. Also the plastic molding around each window is faded but I figure that can be painted. Thoughts please! Also a little bit of rust on rear wheel well not too bad though I don’t think. Told the person I would let them know tonight or tomorrow on my decision.

Usually, the mechanics of the car are the first considerations. Assuming in you're satisfied with the mechanics, we'll address your cosmetic questions.

The trim above the door, shown with chips, is a discontinued piece. A few NOS pieces may exist, but you are most likely to have to buy it from someone parting out their car.

As for the strip below the windows, that is rubber and will not hold paint. We ordered new ones 3 years ago from the dealer, so maybe they still are. They are next to impossible to remove them without destroying it, so don't expect to be able to find one easily from a part out.

As for the rear window trim, that can be painted, or filmed to restore its appearance.

The rust is a small problem at this point. Grind it out, seal it well, and undercoat all wheel wells.

If the rest of the car is in great shape, you will have a nice looking ride with a little work.

Also, the gap between the window's top "drip rail" molding and the roof sheet metal is normal from the factory. If you carefully remove the drip rails from the car you will see how Mitsubishi manufactured this.
