Photoshop of body smoothing on 1g

This is my goal for my 1990 DSM, (this isn't my car by the way...just the right color) I think the 1g's look sweet if you remove all the sharp edges. Let me know what you think.

Also it would be helpful if those who are familiar with body work or custom body mods could give some input on proper filling and body prep techniques (i.e. materials, what to use to promote adheasion, proper filler...etc...etc...)

for those trim things along the side of the car, the best thing to do would probably be to have metal strips welded in place of the trim peice, grind it flat, then fill in and make smooth over that. if you have try to fill that whole thing with filler, you will eventually have problems

you should post of the pic that you PS that from so you can see the actual differences side by side. being a 2g owner, i dont look at 1gs as much.

I really like the way that looks. personally i would ditch the spoiler too tho if possible. it looks out of place on the smooth car.

Like was said above, you might run into problems if you use filler all the way down the side like that.

I noticed you left the door handle on. Why not shave them off while youre at it.

Shaving the door handles sounds like a great idea, when I get home from vacation I will give it a go. I would also like to give the spoiler idea a shot, as well as a headlight swap.

Don't use filler all the way down if you do this. Back in the day I had a 86 honda prelude and I decided it would be cool to try to shave the door lines off for that clean look. I was new at bodywork and slapped some bondo on. It looked good, but after one winter and getting "doored" a couple of times there were major cracks. If you go through with it make sure you weld in some metal and use a minimal amount of body filler.

I'd like to see the car without the wing. I don't know but the smooth body lines are growing on me. Love the color too! That just the standard DSM grey?
