I went with 2 Raptor X HDDs in a RAID O array so i have about 300GB

Im planning on some raptors in the near future along with 2x hd4870x2 and some water cooling along with upgrading to the brand new coolermaster haf case

But I need the HDD space for my blu-ray rips... cus i got alot of those plus i make dvd rips so i gotta keep all those too

I also noticed you got a Hiper psu also what do you think of it?

Also how good is that zalman cpu cooler and is it the 9700 or 9500?

I own the Zalman 9500 Nvidia edition cooler. Couldn't get the 9700 or it will touch the side 120mm fan (antec 900). Its a great cooler, specially if you pair it with a good air flowing case.

Supposedly has DX10.1 support. I'm sure my 4870s can handle the game no problem. I still have my doubts that it will look better than Crysis though. Even with the High/Very High settings mixed, Crysis is the best looking game out there. Even on medium, you'd be hard pressed to find a game that looks much better.

Anyway, I am definitely looking forward to this game!

P.S.- I play at 1920x1200

Raptors are a waste of money IMO. The new Seagate 1.5TB drives are near as fast, cheaper, and you get much more GB/$. Get a couple of those and put them in RAID0 and be happy.

When is COD waw coming out for pc? I'm hoping it will be sweet but, I have my doubts because its just reskinned cod4. Thats what I didnt like about cod4, all the maps were the same just reskinned. On that note does anybody play CSS or Bf2?? Lets start a dsm tuners steam group or x fire group.

theres no way in heck , the HD2900t 1GB is not your run of the mill HD2900xt, its the DDR3 version from HIS, it has more power than most of todays current Grapic chips. Im Oc'd, my GPU has a 512 bit interface at a speed of 840mhz, the mem runs at 2.25Ghz. the worst part of the card is that ATI Drivers suck. for example the new HD4870 has a 750mhz to 800mhz core and only a 256 bit interface. The memory clock is only 1.82Ghz buts its GDDR5

yeah my money gets sucked away by my DSM. love the 4870X2, things a real beast.
I like the Hiper PSU but its a little underpowered for any SLI or Crossfire fun. Its the 730watt. best thing about it is the moduler connections. I have the 9500 Zalman its decent size but i couldn't go with the 9700 with the asus board's heatsinks.

Its the NVIDIA GeForce 7150M. I getting the feeling now that its not as good performance wise as the guy at bestbuy told me. I loaded up flight simulator x and it can barely run it, running at like 4-6fps on medium-low settings. so I guess my question is am I missing something while setting it up or is it just a crappy graphics card? thanks for the help.

I don't think ill go with raptors on my next build, i got a good deal on them from newegg. the only thing i liked about the raptor x was the 16mb Cache.

That means that it has "onboard graphics". Essentially it means that you don't have a video card, your video is coming from the motherboard. If you want to step it up they make video cards for laptops, they are just pricey as hell and overheat easily. P.S. the dudes at best buy are trying to sell you something, so of course it has "EXCELLENT" graphics! Even tho half the time they have no idea what they are talking about. UGH not even close to good mobile graphics... and like the other guy suggested do some research on mobile graphics processors and then buy your own laptop via newegg.com

COD WAW is so much fun... I was worried at first also but man after playin the beta on 360 just wow... I was impressed much more than I thought I would be... Its easy to catch onto since its using the COD4 engine and now you get to drive tanks, and instead of helicopters you get dogs. IMO its a good game... The WWII thing is kinda played out but this game just keeps sucking up all my free time. Tons of new perks and level 65 to prestige now along with allowing you to have 10 custom classes. From the beta I give it a 8/10 but I'll wait and see what the final product holds.

well not quite, its faster than the 8800GS and the 8800gtx, and depending on what benchmarks and what games, it beats the 8800 ultra in several categories, especially since all the the ultra is pretty much just an OC'd GTS. i really want the 4870 X2 though im to poor to buy one. vedio cards just need to catch up with technology and come down on architecture size to say 35NM and have a dual or quad core GPU. but i get a 294FPS on CSS stress test and can play Crysis at very high and AA4x and still get 25-30FPS which is plenty in that game

Actually, the 3870 is the 2900 on a smaller manufacturing node. With the smaller node comes less power consumption, thus less heat, but also more leakage. Still they were able to up the clocks and make it faster than the 2900series. Still the 3870 lost to the 8800GT 512 on most fronts, especially when AA is enabled as the the 2900 and 3800 series suffered from having to few ROPs. So, while it is a decent card (especially if you got them at a good price), saying its better than the 8800Ultra is a stretch.

Only at lower resolutions with AA and AF disabled. But who buys a high end card and lowers the quality.

GPUs use many small "cores" devoted to a specific task. So technically, they are already multicore. Anyway, what resolution do you game at? The 4870X2 is a strange card at low resolutions (anything under 1920x1080), but if you game at a high res, its a good choice that should last a while. However, if your current GPU plays the games you want (which it should play everything at 1680x1050 or lower) with good settings, no sense in upgrading. (Unless you're a nerd like me, )

Anyway, since AMD is starting up "The Foundry", they claim to be gearing up to also make their GPUs on the 32nm process and possibly get some business from nVidia as well. Definitely will be some competition for TSMC and may help drive prices down for us, the consumer, in the long run. (hey, I can be optimistic )

I will play a dsm CSS. I would need to load it up again. I love that game to death. The best is the arctic map with the lights around the map and there are guys everywhere. Or a lot of the orange maps are fun, esp Castle Orange.

well my cpu idles at 87F and during a game i have seen it up to 121F, I think all of the potential is in the Mobo, Asus FTW. My board is the Asus p5k3 which for its time is a OC'ers Dream.The board is very stable at the FSB I run at. I also run at 1600x1050 on LCD and on my 42" i run 1920x1080.
