Ok so what should i do about this window.. Should i open it up and see or go take it somewhere so they can check it out and fix it? Id like to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks

The window lock should not matter if controling from the driver side control(assuming power windows as is everyone else). I would have been a little happier with a better description of the issue besides stating it don't work(i.e. how it was working before quitting, or if it just plain stopped). With no info before hand though I am guessing the window was tried from both switches(driver and passanger side) so am goeing to have to say the window motor has gone bad. Once again just kind of guessing since full info was not supplied.

Don't assume too much. Some people on here really don't think of some of these things that just seem like common sense to the rest of us (not saying the OP is one of them necessarily).

Now, I'm not saying that you're wrong about the lock issue, but my brother did this over the summer and was stumped for a few days as to why it wouldn't work. Then someone asked what that button did, pushed it, and it worked. ROFL

But yes, the end-all answer would be that the motor died.

Good point with the assuming, I should not take it for granted. Not truely disagreeing with the lockout button either, just personally never ran into a car the lockout would disable the drivers main switch, I don't doubt it, nothing would suprize me with anything automotive(drive wrecker, see all kinds of wierd things), just have not experienced it.

I had a similar problem with my passenger window on my 97 GST. I found no problem with the wiring or motor. The window lock was the problem. Inside the driver side control box there is a thin metal strap that is a switch for controlling power to the passenger side window motor. When one pushes the lock button it simply pushes this metal strap away from its contact and opens the circuit, i.e. passenger window is not going to work. In my case this metal strap had been in the lock position long enough to where it did not return to the contact once the lock was removed. All I had to do was open up the driver side control box and bend this strap down into its original position. This is one thing you should check first for hopefully a quick fix.

Hmmmm, sounds like my problem. I took out the motor and the regulator. Still didn't worked. I switched the driver control side to the passenger and it only went down but that was pressing the lock button to get it working.

My passenger window wont go down either. And yes I did check the window lock. I got a used motor but that didnt work when I hooked it up on the passenger side, but it did work when I hooked it up on the driver side. So could it be the wiring or what?

The lock button also disables the driver's side control switch for the passenger window.
My own is a little flaky, and I'll sometimes reach over to use the passenger side button to roll up that window.. potentially a damaged control module, in my case.

If the motor works when plugged into the driver's side plug, but not on the passenger side, it's time to break out your multimeter and see if the passenger side plug has power. If not, time to trace the wiring back.. starting out on the driver's side at the lock switch, just to make sure yours hasn't gone faulty.
