I have always believed you get what you pay for.....

So buying this timing kit worth the money and risk from these guys?

EBay parts is a delicate subject. Always 50/50. Depends what you get if it's something small like accessories it's fine but engine related, in my opinion why take ur chances? In the long run it could cost u more. Just save up a little more and get the quality package. After all u don't want to risk it with your timing whatsoever.

you're better off with advance auto parts than ebay for engine parts. stuff like led bulbs or anything that isn't really important to making an engine run is fine. just be careful on what you get from there

It all depends. I buy everything off eBay. You can get tons of dirt cheap stuff if you know where and how to look, and how to bid. I never waste my money at an auto parts store unless its an emergency.
For example, if you need a timing kit go to RockAuto.com. You may get lucky and get a wholesaler closeout. Use RockAuto to get all the part numbers you need then search eBay. Which ever place is cheaper, buy it. Both places offer hassle free returns.

However, there is always the chance of getting old stock no matter where you shop. I recently purchased some wheel hubs of rock auto. They came in duralast packaging and had a recall sticker on them. I took them to auto zone where they informed me that they were on a safety recall and replaced them.

So always thoroughly examine your parts as soon as you get them!

A link to the timing belt kit you are considering may be helpful.

they can be cheaper made best to go with brand names.

This is not always true......there are made from the same stock as what the big name brand parts are. Just as there are companies out there that have run the same products that our supporting vendors have and put them through the same proven rigorous testing that they have and came out with the same results. A lot of it comes from personal preference....i.e. I want the bright and shiny manifold with a name stamped on it compared to a duller looking one with no name stamped on it but yet both have the same results. And yes if you can afford the name brand ones and want to purchase them, by all means do so, all of the vendors on here that support our community have great and amazing products. And if you cant afford them and see one for a cheaper price on ebay and you research it and look it over thoroughly and see that it is a good product and you can trust it, then by all means do so too. The name brand vendor products on here are ones that people have taken to see at a lot of the shows and word of mouth and plainly, that's how business is done! But if you have an off brand/no name ebay product that you start using and start "busting heads" (excuse my French) with whether it be rally cross, street, drag, etc. and people start noticing the product you use and what it does then those will pick up popularity also and could become a new supporting vendor. LIKE WAS SAID IN BEGINNING......Its mainly all on preference and affordability.
