It won't go off. I guess its the switch, and I know its a common problem in 2G, wondering if the switch is also a common problem in 1G? Can I get it from a regular auto store or is the dealer going to bend me over one more time and charge me 40 dollars or more? ROFL

Found alot of mis-matched replys when I did a search so I figured I would post a fast question...

Thanks guys.

check your pads and fluid. the brake light on our cars is directly related to 3 things. E-brake handle, low brake fluid, or worn pads. Check these 3 out, and if it's still on, then the problem is electrical.

im having this problem now, but i have a 2g. i know my problem for sure is the switch is broken. my brake pedal like clicks if i pull it hard enough but as soon as i let it go it sort of goes 'bump'. u cant hear it, just feel it. my fix for this right now is just removing the fuse for the stop lamp whenever i get to where im goin. yea it's a pain but u get used to them with these cars. i was told that u could go to a reg auto store like o' reilly's and get a switch for about 15-30 bucks.

Yeah I didn't get a chance to check the fluid / pads. I am pretty sure the pads are fine, and I'll most likely check the fluid tomorrow. When I first got the car it didn't come on... maybe I'm just hard on the switch... (I hope anyways.)

Thanks I'll post whats up whenever I get around to it.
