Hey once I get this cylinder head all clean and sand paperd..I'm repainting it red. I just want to know what are the parts that CAN NOT be painted. The valve springs and the rods opposite the springs are still on (what are the rods called?). The rockers are taken off. Oh btw its not going for show or anything. Its for an ol chevy truck.

Take everything off until it's just one huge block of aluminum. Take the rockers off, valve springs off, pushrods off, everything. Make sure it's really clean, too. All the oil and everything must be off. Clean enough to eat off of :thumb:

There should be no need to paint where a the valve cover, head gasket, exhaust manifold, and intake will cover. I would plug all bolt holes and those are pushrods you are referring to and a cast iron head.
