Recently picked up 97 gst spyder. love the look of the car, going to stay as close to stock look as possible including keeping stock wheels. First things first, one complaint i have towards the 2g is the huge wheel gap. On my integra gsr i put sportlines and konis on it but it got too slammed and rode like crap. I hear good things about the pro kit on the 2g and I was wondering a few things from people that own them. Will the drop affect daily driving much? Is ride quality much worse? Will you have more tire wear if you just get an alignment after installing w/out a camber kit? Finally, since its only an inch drop can you use the stock shocks with these springs. lots of questions, thanks to anyone that takes the time to answer. oh, and also, does anyone know which model no. of pro kit to get, 6014.140 or 6015.140? the eibach site says excluding spyder for both but i know that cant be true since people have them on this site.

I have them on my car paired with illumina shocks. They actually drop over an 1 and a half on the FWD cars regardless of what they say. You would not wanna go any lower, in fact I wish my front was just a little higher. Ride is okay though springrates are low like most aftermarket lowering springs. They are slightly uneven w/ 1-1.5 finger gap in the front and about 3-3.5 gap in the back and are not perfect side to side. Overall i'm not a big fan of them though they do the job. There really isnt any lowering spings for our cars that are that hot with the possible exception of H&R OEM springs. If i did it over I may of just spent the dough and went w/ ground controls.

shouldn't one of these kits lower your car less, the 6014.140 or 6015.140? I've heard so much mixed discussion on the pro kit i don't know what to think. First i heard they dont even hardly lower the car, it looks stock, then i hear they slam the car. I was considering going with ground control coilovers so i could have an ideal 1" drop but then i heard that they ride like crap from people on the forums. Any feedback as what i should purchase for a 1" or so drop that has good ride quality. I want my car to ride like a daily driver, not a stock car.

Maybe those people have no idea of what they are talking. Ride quality is mostly a function of the shocks, assuming you haven't done something silly like get SportLines and are spending most of your time on the front bumpstops. So, when someone blames the sleeves and perches (which is all GC makes), they are just another internet idiot.

Choose your springrates.

Choose appropriate shocks.

Order the first from GC, telling them which shocks you'll be running.

Order the second from whomever you wish.

I put on the eibach prokit on my 2wd tsi talon and it handled great after. there is less body roll and I can rip turns fast! I still have the stock shocks and am looking foward to getting some koni adjustable shocks. I highly recomend the springs . :thumb:

dosent h and r make good springs and they have a good rate for the drop...this is waht i heard im trying to debate to spend the extra money for the tein coilovers

ok i talked to the eibach rep on the phone and he said they dont have a kit designed for the eclipse spyder gst. He said that because of the extra weight of the convertible the springs are going to sag a bit more in the back. I'm assuming this is fine with the monstrous wheel gap the eclipse has, he also said that the pro kit shouldn't require a camber kit. Ok, so now do i go with the kit designed for the GSX (6015.140) or the kit designed for the 2wd (6014.140) Will both fit? I assume the GSX kit is stiffer.

No. Fronts are the same; rears are not.

Also, if you really heard an Eibach employee say "sag," then my guess is that Eibach will soon have one fewer employees. My guess is he said that it would ride lower, instead.
