Okay turbo guys need some help

i got my short shifter, had to go pacesetter but oh well anything to not have that spungy feeling when shifting.

Also got the greddy turbo timer and it seems real sweet.

why not just take a die grinder and cut the top off the shifter and say like an inch or so and pow you have a short shifter and slap a nice knob on it ??? i was thinking of doing this one any feed back ??
 
The majority of the benefit of a short shifter is not that the lever is shorter (that shortens throw by maybe 1/8th inch for 1" chopped of ;o) but in the different ratio between the length of the shifter arm above the fulcrum, and below it. In other words, its better to buy a known good short shifter designed to shorten throw. I personally dont like them, DSM trannies suck enough as it is. The shorter the throw gets, the lower the resLOLution gets.
