I'm in pittsburgh PA. I'm a v8 guy, but i just picked up a 91 laser for 1000 bucks. I have a little knowledge about dsm's, but probably nothing compared to most of the ppl on here. So heres my first question. I'm currently running a 14b, but i have a Big 16g to put on. Heres my mods:

2g pistons
1g big rods
Balance shaft eleminator kit
Cometic MLS head gasket
FMIC 24W x 12H x 3D
Dejon Tools UICP
GM blow through MAF
MAF Translator
Hard wired walbro 255LPH fuel pump
custom bend 2 1/2" turbo back exhaust
SAFC II
Faze boost & temp gauge
Manual boost controller
Injen Intake
K&N Air filter
Prothane Motor Mounts
Genuine Tial 44mm BOV

Question is, how much boost can if safely run on this motor? theres about 16k miles on the build

Thanks,
Rich

well, with the 16g your gonna want some bigger injectors. safety is in the tuning. you need to be able to monitor what is going on in your motor. your fuel trims, knock, a/f ratios engine temps.. lots of stuff to keep track of. keeping those happy will keep your motor happy

We need to know what size injectors you have, and what fuel you plan on running. On pump 93oct, with 450cc(stock) injectors on a 16G, you probably wouldn't be able to go over 16psi safely

thats exactly what i needed to know. it IS on 450cc inectors and i do run pump fuel

Thanks

im running 12 on the 14b right now. i think when i throw the 16g on ill start at ten and work my way up to 15 and see where i wanna keep it

Pick up a set of used 550cc or 650cc injectors, a WIDEBAND 02 gauge (you want something with numbers, normally runs in the $200 to $300 range), and some form of a logger. Also, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (AFPR) would be a good idea, as the 255lph pump has a tendency to overrun the stock regulator.

You have a very good start, take the time, do it right, and enjoy it :thumb:
