will bad gas cause a knock? it is pretty old gas and i am wondering if it coulda fouled out my plugs?
the gas was like 2 years old and i filled the tank but the old gas was in there and the knock was gettn worse :talon: :laser: :dsm:

old gas usually lose their octane. I forgot what it was but I think they loose 1 point of octane per 6 months or so. Don't quote me on it since I remember it vaugely. Theres also condensation inside the tank through that 2 years its been sitting there. I would put in a bottle of water remover. Or better yet, just drain that gas and throw it in your lawn mower.

Are you reading this knock as timing dips on a logger, or are you hearing this knock from outside the engine?

If you're just hearing it, does it sound like marbles in a can, or does it sound like a clunking knock?

hard to say it is knocking......to me sounds like a marble in a can it had a problem with the reving it would rev and drop at an idle i dont know if that is related but i just wanna rebuild it :( :talon:

That's probably a good idea...

If you're losing oil pressure, the knocking would be a minor concern at this point. :(

You will damage alot of things in a Turbo Charged car with low oil pressure. I also recommend you pull the tank and clean it thuroughly (sp). Then get the oil problem under control.
