Oil temp gauge - where to get signal?

I want to install an oil temp gauge in my 1G but I don't know where to mount the sending unit? I think the easiest way is to get an oil drain plug sender but it may not be as accurate as other locations. How have other people got an oil temp reading in a 1G?

Ummm, is that a joke

Has anyone used the spot on the front of the head near the turbo oil feed line? There is an allen head plug there that I think I could thread a temp sender into.

um..no..ive seen oil temp guages that come with a replacement dipstick with a tempsensor at the end of it(goes into oil) ..its best because it measures the temp of the oil returning into the pan..which is hottest...

ive seen allota s14s (euro) SR20DETs do it that way...
