Okay so I have a rebuilt 91 motor in my 2g. I polished the valve cover and powder coated it. However, down the whole front of the motor on the side by the oil filter it is covering stuff with oil. Also it is on my hood. I am trying to figure out where it is coming from and someone told me that it is probably my valve cover being cracked or fromthe small hole in the front of the valve cover. Could this in fact be the case? I am running 22psi every day on the street and I do drive hard. I just want to know so I can fix this or figure out if it is a cam seal or in worst case a head gasket. Please help me :( My friend's shop is more than willing to help but I just want to be able to drive my car and not have to tear down the whole motor again :'(

Hey man I had the same problem on my old car and I never figured it out I got so fed up because it got to the point of where the oil would start leaking out from under the hood so I just sold the car. I would guess that it is leaking somewhere around the frontcase or something and the timing belt is shooting it up on the hood.

I dunno where it is coming from and it makes me so upset since I bought this motor with only 1k on it since it was rebuilt and i know he didnt have any problems with it like this and that is why I'm wondering if it could be the valve cover since that is all that I changed? Someone please help me...

With what I have learned from 4g63 I have noticed 3 oil leaking spots.

One, the little hole onthe front of the valve cover on the right side of the valve cover there is tha tlittle hole that leaks sometimes, I have no idea how to fix it, there is that, and the Dip stick might be coming out, If your running 22psi you might have the same problem as my friend did, he would actually blow his dip stick out of the tube and it would pour oil everywhere. BIG mess... also it could just be blowing by the actual stick and not even pushing it out, try putting some of that pipe fitting teflon tape on it, we did that and it works good, and make sure it's VERY hard to push in... also try checking near the turbo feed oil line, sometimes that leaks... not sure if that would cause it in your case, but check those other 2 things.

Thanks guys, I know for sure it isn't a crack in the valve cover after some testing. I will check the dipstick, and i dont mean me, as well as just yanking off the valve cover again and loading it up with some of the orange goo stuff :)
