What could be the most common problems if there are traces of oil (moisture) inside the airbox? The PCV valves have been cleaned, the plugs are clean and have no traces of oil, exhaust is clear - just passed emission tests and oil consumption is normal - about half a liter in about 8 months.

Some mechanic said could be "blow-by" but car runs well and fuel consumption is normal too. Another one said could be valve seals.\

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Defiant,

In that case all I really need is to filter out the oil to avoid it collecting in the airbox, right? Will try it out now.

Thanks

had the same problem but when I changed my oil it was less think it also has to do with how thin the oil is and how much boost you're running age of pistons rings also

It's not to filter it. It just gives the vapor a place to condense and catch before it goes into your intake and does it there.
You'll be wanting to read about cleaning your intercooler, too.

if you don't have the money for a catch can, or you want to fix the problem in the time it takes you to get the catch can shipped to you, go to an auto store and pick up a breather filter for like $8. of course the catch can is ideal, but the breather will work for now.

oh wow, sorry about that post, i didn't look at the link in defiants post. i thought it was going to be one of those like $85 catch cans by magnus?? i think. of course i picked up a catch can for $30 on ebay, thats a universal fit, exactly like magnus'. it works fine, but definitly go with the one for $3.
