oil in my intake

well i took the lower half of my intake off and i was gonna retighten it down, and there was oil in there, and it was kind of leaking down throughout the pipe, is that normal? and would it cause the car to want to stall, because my car wants to stall when i come to a stop, or let off the gas to quick in low rpms. any ideas on either of these?

look at your valve cover. On the middle passenger side of the valve cover, there should be a little nipple. There should be a hose there, if that hose is connected to your intake arm, then the oil is normal.

your stalling problem probably has to do with vacuum leaks, a bad ISC, or a bad TPS.

The oil is normal, get a catch can. Your stalling problem sounds like a fuel filter. I would try that first. If it doesn't fix it, check the ICS with an OHM meter.

thanks for the replies guys, well the tps and isc are both new within 15 months i would say, so i doubt its either of them. it could be a vac leak, but i just bought that silicone hose kit off of RRE, so hopefully that will fix it, if not, could be a fuel problem, i bet its the same fuel system thats been in the car for that 103k miles its got on it.

i got a new filter and tried to put it on before, but everything was all rusted and wouldnt come apart, so i just gave up, and its been sitting in my car since, one of these days ill take it to a shop and have them put it on. and as far as the oil goes, i dont care that its in there i guess, i just wanted to make sure somethign wasnt wrong, thats all.
