Oil Drain Plug Problem

i went under my car to do a oil change and when i started to turn the drain plug it was extremely tight and every little turn i was doing the plug was not backing out at all i have probably turned it about 1.5 turn by know and it has not backed out at all yet. i dont want to break it off but it feels like it got cross threaded or something. any ideas would be great the sooner the better b/c we all know that it isnt good to go without changing the oil especially in a dsm.

ummm....perhaps try spraying it with some liquid wrench or something. Good luck man

1. You shouldn't bump your threads, it'll get locked.
2. You won't break the oil drain plug, however, you/whoever probably cross-threaded the plug when it was installed last and will now strip the threads on the pan/plug removing it. You can use some PB Blaster on it and give it a try if it's just stuck.
3. Then if it's stripped you will have to drop the pan, go to AutoZone and pick up a new slightly larger plug and re-tap the pan.

damn that sux just to do a "simple" oil change i'm gonna take it to my uncle he's a mechanic and see if he can back it out without screwing things up probably on saturday. but if anyone thinks of something before then let me know.. o by the way i did spray some stuff on it with no success...thanx anyways
